Meet Kirsty
Kirsty Taylor is a storyteller who loves to share her stories through writing, podcasting, and often by chronically oversharing online. Based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia, she originally hails from Perthshire, Scotland, where storytelling was at the core of her upbringing, and her padlocked diary was a prized possession.
Kirsty's Story So Far
Kirsty earned her Bachelors degree in English Literature and Film from Edinburgh Napier University in 2019, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the University of Aberdeen in 2021.
During her time studying her undergraduate degree she discovered her love for poetry and published a poetry pamphlet: Turbulent Twenties in 2021 and is currently working on her first full poetry collection. Kirsty loves to write in all different forms and you can find more of her writing here.
She has been asking people about their own stories since her first school report as a 5 year old where her headteacher said 'Kirsty has become quite the character throughout the year and I look forward to our weekly hallway chats.' Kirsty has taken this skill and started a podcast called: Fancy a Blether? which is dedicated to creating the cosy podcast of your dreams that is like people watching but for your ears.
Since the first club she made as a 7 year old (Thunderbirds club) she fell in love with community and has ran many different clubs and projects throughout phases throughout her life dedicated to just that. She recently realised how inaccessible the 'artsy' scene can be and decided to change that by starting a community group called Continue The Voice.
When she isn't doing anything of these things she enjoys eating good food, listening to Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Nina Nesbitt and Lewis Capaldi (and no she doesn't care if you think her music taste is basic), watching live theatre and reading.
